We are based in Canberra, Australia. Canberra is the National Capital city, and is located about 3 hours drive south west of Sydney and about 8 hours north of Melbourne.
My parents live in Sydney and are also pug owners who hold executive positions in the Pug Club of New South Wales.
Pugs have been a part of our life for the past 23 years and during that time we have been very blessed to have had many wonderful dogs in our family.
As well as showing the pugs, Felicity is qualified to judge Toy, Terrier, Working and Utility dog breeds and has judged in all Australian States, New Zealand, the United States of America and South Africa. Felicity was on the board of management of the Australian Capital Territory Canine Association for 9 years.
Some of the dogs that have been part of our lives over the past 23 years who we haven't been able to feature on the site include:
Our first pug, Camvek Robbies Lass "Koki" who captivated us to the extent that we had to have another pug!
Our first black pug, Helemund Van Der Mint "Nippy" who cemented in our hearts our love for this breed.
Our first champion Ch Gilgai Mai Tai "Tai" who was also our first Best Exhibit in Show winner at a Pug Specialty Show.
Then came Ch Gilgai Mischief Maker "Mac" who had the most perfect diamond on his forehead.
Our first All Breeds Best in Show winner, was the wonderful Ch Gilgai Makaha "Sam" who passed away peacefully on 4 April 2004. Not only did Sam win Best in Show at All Breeds, he also won Best in Show at Toy Specialty and Breed Specialty level. Sam's grandson is our most successful baby puppy, "Darcy". Sam's great grandchildre - Hugapug Dixie Chic and Hugapug Dadzin Thefbi will make their show appearances in May 2008.
Ch Gilgai Apollo "Suni" won Best in Show at an Asian Breeds show.
Ch Gilgai Lets Rocknroll "Gus" was our first Royal Best of Breed winner and winner of Best in Group at the Canberra Royal Show.
Ch Gilgai Boiwata Newsance "Boi" at 7 years and 11 months, won Best in Show at a Toy Specialty.
Ch Patrian Abitov Anewsance, "Bert" was our first Best of Breed winner at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Bert's return to the ring (because he enjoyed showing so much), at aged 7 1/2 was spectacular. His return included numerous class in group awards as well as a Best in Group award.
The charismatic and twice winner of Reserve Challenge dog at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Ch Gilgai Dare Devil "Dev".
Ch Clarevale Basil Brush "Bas", son of Ch Gilgai Makaha "Sam". Bas won the one thing that his father couldn't do, - Best of Breed Sydney Royal Easter Show.
and not forgetting the pet in the household - "Stanley" Clarevale Stanley Steamer.
Each and everyone of these dogs holds a special place in our hearts and we thank them for the joy that they bought to our lives.
